For Jillian Gessell, food is an adventure and she’s determined to explore the endless possibilities the culinary world has to offer. She has excelled in many facets of the industry, not only cooking, but planning, organizing and creating memorable experiences for her clients-- but her drive and passion is pastries. She keeps guests wanting more, focusing on simple desserts with complex flavors.
Growing up in Swanville, a small town in Central Minnesota, Jillian never imagined she would make a career out of her love of food. After college and a degree in psychology, she stayed home to raise her son Addison. Then, inspired by her mother’s creativity in the kitchen, and a desire to learn more about her natural talent, she enrolled in the esteemed Le Cordon Bleu, Minneapolis.
Soon after, Jillian began working at a Minneapolis hotel under Chef Patrick Hooker who has been a mentor and an inspiration to her. The influence of having studied under Michelle Gayer, formerly of Charlie Trotter’s, also comes through in many of Jillian’s desserts. Most notably, her utilization of herb infusions in her sweet treats.
Jillian has become one of Minneapolis’ hottest caterers with food that is stylish and delicious. With her bright smile and vivacious personality, it is no mystery why Chef Jillian Gessell is sought after for her cooking demonstrations and classes. Now, the adventure continues with Road Chef: Destination Special Occasion. She’s excited to bring her many talents and variety of experiences to what she anticipates will be an electrifying experience for her and the audience. |
